2024-2025 Simplify Writing® Champion Award

At Simplify Writing®, we want to celebrate the schools and teachers who are putting in the hard work to make a real difference in their students’ writing abilities. This contest is our way of recognizing the dedication, creativity, and passion that educators bring to helping students become confident and skilled writers. Your commitment deserves recognition, and through this contest, we aim to spotlight the most dedicated schools and teachers in our community.

Submission Requirements:

Please read the following requirements carefully. Submissions that do not follow these requirements will not be considered.

  1. Requirements:
    • Your Simplify Writing® license must be active.
    • Simplify Writing® must be used in at least four classrooms in your school.
    • Your school must be located in the United States.
    • You must have permission from your school/district administration to participate.
     

  2. Written Submission:

    • Submit a written entry of 300-500 words or a 3-5 minute video.
    • Share your writing goals and challenges you are using the program to overcome.
    • Share how you and your students are succeeding during your writing block with the Simplify Writing® program.
    • Do not use student names, but you can give unnamed student examples.
     

  3. Writing Samples:

    • Attach 3-5 writing samples from your students as part of your submission.
    • Ensure that student names are fully covered on each sample.
    • The samples should reflect the growth and the impact of Simplify Writing® in your classroom.
     

  4. Personal Information:

    • Include your full name and school name in the submission.
     

  5. Submission Format:

    • All materials should be submitted in a single document or PDF format. Please insert student writing sample photos into the document with your written submission.

 These requirements will help us learn more about your school's journey with Simplify Writing® and see the direct impact on students. Multiple teachers from the same school may provide their own unique submissions for a chance to win.

 
The winner of the giveaway will receive a one-time $2,500 credit, which will be applied toward their next renewal. In order to claim the prize, the winner must schedule the Johns Hopkins visit during a mutually agreed time. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by Simplify Learning, and no cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at the company's discretion. The prize is nontransferable, and any and all prize-related expenses, including federal, state, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner will be selected by a random drawing under the supervision of Simplify Learning and will be notified by email within 5 days following the selection. Simplify Learning shall have no liability for a winner's failure to receive notices due to spam, junk email, or other security settings, or for a winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 10 days, or fails to approve the Johns Hopkins visit within 45 days, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. By entering this giveaway, you agree that Simplify Learning, anyone acting on its behalf, and its licensees, successors, and assigns, may use the winner's name, likeness, and entry for publicity, advertising, or promotional purposes without further compensation, notice, review, or consent.

 The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2024.
